Tea in the Garden
Join me in my garden for tea and a tour!
Come walk through my suburban edible and medicinal garden and learn about the permaculture principles behind the garden design. Ask questions and enjoy the sights and sounds alongside the natural lake. I will serve cold teas and refreshing fruits under a canopy (with fans). Stay to chat and make new gardening friends. This is a drop in event - come any time from 10am and 1pm.
$35 per guest, or $60 for two guests paying together

Creating a Mini Food Forest
Creating a Mini Food Forest
Using permaculture principles, learn how to design your ideal food forest. A small footprint is only as limiting as you let it be! Caitlyn Minns, Permaculture Designer, will walk you through the layers of a food forest, teach you how to anticipate growth and future iterations, and how to choose the varieties that will enhance your space. You will leave with rough drafts of your food forest, a Food Forest Guide, and a plant cutting to get you started! (2 hrs.)

Creepy Crawlies: All Treats, No Tricks
Learn about your garden friends - beneficial and predatory insects that will benefit your plants. Identify some of the most common bugs, learn about their life cycles and habits, and how to attract them to your garden. You will leave with more knowledge about beneficial and predatory insects and a Creepy Crawlies Guide. (1 hr.)

Compost Bins 101
Create your own rich, nutrient dense compost right in your backyard without any smell, mess, or pests. James and Caitlyn Minns will walk you through creating a compost bin, and how to use it and maintain it. A combination of lecture, Q&A, and hands-on experience will help you gain the confidence to get your compost bin started. You will leave with more knowledge about building and maintaining a compost bin in SOuth Florida, a Compost Bins 101 reference guide, and a bin to get you started! (1 hr.)

Patio & Balcony Gardening
You can have an oasis in your small space. Here to help you design your ideal balcony or patio garden, Permaculture Designer, Caitlyn Minns, will guide you through the logistics of growing in small spaces. In addition to the logistics, you’ll be guided through a meditation to visualize your perfect oasis, which will guide your design. You will leave with knowledge and inspiration to start your small garden journey, a Balcony and Patio Gardening Guide, and a self-watering pot with plants to get you started! (2 hrs.)

The “Gardening 101” for South Florida - everything you need to know to get started gardening in Zones 10 & 11. Caitlyn Minns, Permaculture Designer, will walk you through the seasons, soil, water, pests, and all of the best gardening practices for our climate. Part lecture, part Q & A, you can get all of your questions answered and gain a higher rate of gardening confidence. You will leave with more knowledge about how to grow the garden of your dreams, a Gardening in Zone 10 & 11 reference guide, and a plant cutting to get you started! (3 hrs.)
